Omid Nemalhabib is a graphic designer working at the intersection of type design, visual language, and multilingual typography. He draws on philosophy, visual culture, poetry, and practice-led artistic research to build multilayered narratives, shaped into typographic systems through an ongoing dialogue between analogue tools and digital experimentation. This cross-disciplinary approach spans identity, editorial, printed objects, web design, and motion. He co-founded Studio Melli, an independent practice born in Tehran and based in The Hague.
Lemo Model
2024
LeMo Model is a publication presenting a full character set designed through the LeMo Method, an approach rooted in pattern formation and morphology rather than the rectangle-based logic of movable type. Rather than starting from fixed letterforms, the method builds character patterns first, applying structure and contrast principles only afterward, closer to how a calligrapher works than how type is conventionally constructed.
A complete typeface was developed using this framework and applied across its full character set, translating the method's pattern-based logic into a working type design, built through constant iteration between analogue calligraphic studies and digital refinement. LeMo Model documents this typeface as a type specimen and booklet.
